Monongahela Valley Hospital Offers Multiphasic Blood Screening - August 25, 2016
Did you know that a simple blood test can reveal many conditions in the body? For instance, elevated Triglyceride levels may increase the risk of developing coronary artery disease; high levels of Potassium could indicate kidney damage; low hemoglobin levels may indicate anemia; and very high levels of Alkaline Phosphatase can be caused by liver disorders or gallstones. These four tests are among the 37 standard tests performed on the blood during Monongahela Valley Hospital's Multiphasic Blood Screening. A group of parishioners from Our Lady of the Valley Church in Donora have made another donation of handmade dignity robes for breast cancer patients at Monongahela Valley Hospitals' Charles L. and Rose Sweeney Melenyzer Pavilion and Regional Cancer Center.
